Painting Holidays in Cascais - Seaside
This workshop takes place close to the beach in a very inspiring and tranquil spot, perfect for artists to be able to paint and relax.
Set in extraordinary natural surroundings, the hotel has a unique and personal atmosphere providing invigorating and unforgettable contact with nature. We are going to spend six days enjoying, relaxing and painting in the beauty of an area where the sea meets the mountains with a group of like-minded people in a fun and relaxed environment.
Accommodation is provided at a friendly hotel and all rooms are double or single and include a private bathroom. A charming sea-water pool on a cliff, restaurants, bar, snack-bar, swimming pool bar, and an outdoor eating area are just some of the facilities. Breakfast will be served daily in the hotel.
The hotel is situated by Guincho beach in Cascais and Sintra Natural Park.
A detailed programme will be presented at your welcome drink upon arrival at your hotel in Cascais. There is a variety of workshops from oil or acrylic to watercolour. These workshops are for beginners as well as for more advanced participants. The tutor gives a demonstration and guides each students to learn a new skill or improve their work. In the classes each participant can develop their chosen subject.
We will enjoy lunches of Mediterranean and traditional Portuguese food in interesting regional restaurants in the hotel.
After lunch, every participant is free to do whatever they like. We organise walks close to the hotel where you can take photographs or make sketches in your sketchbooks, which you can then use to make lovely paintings in the studio the next morning. As we are near the beach, open-air painting is a very good option – weather permitting.
Over the course of the week, we will have two special dinners in charming typical restaurants. The other evenings are free: you can eat at the hotel or head into Cascais village, which is 10 Km (3 miles) away by bus or taxi.
There is a visit to Sintra, included in your programme so you can visit some of the World Heritage monuments, which are considered to be among some of the most beautiful in the world.
Don’t worry if you forget or run out of any materials! There is an excellent art shop in Cascais should this happen.
